The renovated Santiago Bernabéu experience is a football fortress! Step outside and Madrid itself is flooded with white shirts. Even non-football fans can’t resist the pull! You can sip a Starbucks with a pitch view or grab a cold Mahou and tapas at the Plaza Mahou in the stadium brewery. The stadium isn’t just a home for football it’s an everyday destination. A revolving money machine that never sleeps.

Game day was incredible! Outside Barcelona’s team hotel, hundreds gathered hoping for a glimpse of the players. Club President Joan Laporta came out of the hotel and stopped for everyone chanting loudly “FORÇA BARÇA!” as supporters passionately cheered “PRESI, PRESI, PRESI!’’ back at him, he signed autographs and had selfies with as many as he could.

Inside the Bernabéu, the tension was electric. Real Madrid won an absorbing game 2–1 thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, the new Galácticos delivering when it mattered most. Barcelona’s young prodigy,

Lamine Yamal faced jeers throughout, though one fan told me with a grin, “Right now, we dislike him. But come the World Cup, we’ll love him again.”

Mbappé grabbed the spotlight by scoring the opening goal, but could of got a hat trick only to be denied from the penalty spot by Szczęsny’s brilliant save and saw another stunning strike ruled out by VAR.

England star Jude Bellingham delivered a brilliant performance, scoring the decisive goal and sending a strong message to Thomas Tuchel.

And of course, there was late drama, Pedri’s red card sparked touchline tensions worthy of El Clásico’s reputation!
Real Madrid deserved their victory moving five points clear at the top.

El Clásico is a celebration of everything that makes the game beautiful, dramatic, and human. It’s fantastic how it brings people together, and that’s what football is all about. Barcelona’s club slogan is ‘More Than A Club’, but this event shows that it’s more than a game!

However, for now, Madrid has the bragging rights.
