One Palace honours another

Matt Thacker with FA Cup and Charity Shield

Crystal Palace’s historic double, lifting both the FA Cup and the Community Shield was celebrated in the Houses of Parliament last night. The exclusive event, held inside the Speaker’s House united members of the men’s and women’s teams, the club’s board, and community representatives to honour a truly remarkable season for the South London side.

Hosted by the Mr Speaker, Rt Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle who couldn’t resist a few jokes about being a Bolton fan, the evening paid tribute not only to the team’s success on the pitch but also to the outstanding work the Palace for Life Foundation do. Mr Speaker congratulated the club for its achievements and its lasting impact in the South London community.

The Palace for Life Foundation’s work is nothing short of extraordinary. Every day, its dedicated team changes lives across South London, mentoring and inspiring young people through education, sport, and the power of the Palace badge.

Among those in attendance were manager Oliver Glasner, chairman and owner Steve Parish, club captain from last season Joel Ward, and Palace legend Mark Bright.

Speeches from both Parish and Mr Speaker showed the pride and passion that define the club, while guests had the privilege of posing with the FA Cup itself.

The invitation-only event was a fitting celebration of a season that has united players, fans, and the wider community.
